Lotus Flower Lantern Workshop–Great Turn out, Great Fun!

On Saturday, April 6, 2024, we had the pleasure of having members of The Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project lead a Lotus Flower Lantern workshop for 21 patrons. Apologies to the patrons who were unable to join this workshop as we had to close registration early. Younhee Shin led the class with helpers, Hyunjeung Gwon and Kyungwon Pak. They wore the beautiful traditional attire for women or Hanbok, which is made of silk and hand painted. The patrons learned about The Lantern Festival, brief history and culture of Korea, and of course, how to make a Lotus Flower Lantern. At the end of the workshop, the patrons completed a beautiful and colorful Lotus Flower Lantern. They also were given free handbooks about Korean history and culture. Based on all the positive comments from all the patrons, this was a very fun and interesting way to learn about Korean history and culture.
