This past Saturday, June 27, 2026, over 30 community members from the Town of Highlands gathered at the Highland Falls Library to give voice to the words that shaped a nation–the Declaration of Independence. The air was filled with both pride and reflection as voices young and old joined together in this timeless tradition. There were even more community members who came to attend this wonderful event.
This event was coordinated by The Town of Highlands Historical Society (Led by Ronnie Coffey) in celebration of the 250th birthday of The Declaration of Independence. Music accompaniment by cellist Alex Prizgintas was a beautiful addition to the reading.
Thank you to Ronnie Coffey and The Town of Highlands Historical Society, all the volunteer community readers, and Alex Prizgintas for being a part of this historical celebration with us!
