What a great turn out we had on Saturday, Feb. 3rd, for “Take Your Child to the Library Day”! The children got to enjoy Drop-In Storytime for an hour. We had a special guest Storyteller, Phil Bond, who read fun stories to them for an hour. Barb (dog handler) and Finnegan (therapy dog) came for a special Reading with Dogs Program. First, they decided to listen in on some storytelling by Phil before getting ready for their program. Then they got to listen to some storytelling from the children. What great readers they were! The children were also busy with the winter Snowman crafts and new bookmarks to color for Make & Take /Take & Make Crafts. Families were enjoying the Community Puzzle and having fun in the downstairs Children’s Area. And of course, families were checking out some new books to read at home! If you haven’t already done so, check out the “Blind Date with a Book” Display.

You’ve heard the saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. We went the extra step and hid the cover. Stop by the library and take a chance on a book. You never know…you might end up loving a book you never would have picked up normally.

What’s a fun way to spend a cold winter day? Learning to sew a decorative mitten! We had a full class (pre-registration was required) on Wednesday, January 17th.
