There was Craft Making for the children, Henna designed tattoos (temporary), Balloon art by Gwendy, Storytime, Calligraphy of your name in Arabic, and Delicious EID foods from around the world. Highland Falls Library was buzzing with Earth Day activities this past Saturday, April 26, 2025, sponsored by The Town of Highlands Citizens Environmental Advisory Committee & Town of Highlands Garden Club.
Activities on the front porch of the library included a Girl Scout cookie sale, seed starting, plant swap, rock painting and a bike repair/tune-up station.
Inside the front community room of the library, activities included the Repair Café with electronics, small electrical repairs, fabric/sewing, O&R information, Town DPW Recycling information, Disaster Preparedness information, Scenic Hudson information about the Highland Falls Preserve Trail and Michael Graber, florist. Downstairs, the kids enjoyed games of Earth Day Bingo. We even had a visit from Barb and Finnegan, therapy dog team, for our Reading with Dogs Program.
Outside the library, the local scouts were busy cleaning up the parking lot and surrounding area of debris. Thank you for your hard work!
