Red Lotus by Chris Bohjalian. Chris is one of my favorite authors. Alexis is an ER doctor, One Saturday night, Austin comes in with a bullet wound (not life threatening). She fixes him up. Six months later, they go on a vacation to Vietnam with a bike tour. On the last day of the tour, Austin goes biking alone to pay respects to his father and uncle, who fought in the war. Austin disappears into thin air…The Red Lotus is a mystery with twists & a strong plot (Pandemic)and complex characters. Great Read..
